Press Release

Author’s new book receives a warm literary welcome.

Readers’ Favorite announces the review of the Non-Fiction – Religion/Philosophy book “The Religious Divide” by Larry Squyres, currently available at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CP3B55VY. Readers’ Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. They have earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Harper Collins, and have received the “Best Websites for Authors” and “Honoring Excellence” awards from the Association of Independent Authors. They are also fully accredited by the BBB (A+ rating), which is a rarity among Book Review and Book Award Contest companies. “Reviewed By Amy Raines for Readers’ Favorite In The Religious Divide by Larry Squyres, being raised in a family of people who attend different religious denominations has a way of posing questions that need answers. Comparing and contrasting the differences and similarities in the belief structures plays a key role in finding the truth in God’s words. Examining the scriptures in the Old Testament and weighing them against the New Testament can go a long way in helping a person understand more about what they mean. Trying to decide who’s right and wrong is not exactly the way to discover your faith in God’s love. Studying the words and taking them in will allow you to find the truth and continue on the path to God with a clearer understanding and a better outlook on your faith and life. The Religious Divide is one of the most informative books I have ever read when it comes to understanding the Bible and the differences and similarities between various denominations. I love how Larry Squyres explains a point, gives contrasting points, and then adds scriptures that make the ideas between them more understandable. I think the best thing is how this author encourages you to find the truth in your heart while helping you figure out the pieces that can be somewhat confusing. I recommend The Religious Divide to anyone who wants and needs a better understanding of what is found in the Bible and wants more clarity on what’s right, what may be considered wrong, and how to find their place in this world through the scriptures.” You can learn more about Larry Squyres and “The Religious Divide” at https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/the-religious-divide where you can read reviews and the author’s biography, as well as connect with the author directly or through their website and social media pages. Well, I just made it back for our CMA National Rally down in Hatfield AR. It was a long hot trip by motorcycle along with some rain. There is a saying there are those who have not gone down on their motorcycles yet and those that have. Well after 26 years of riding I finally went down. We were slowing down to catch an overpass and put on rain gear since it was starting to rain. When I got to the overpass, I hit about three inches of wet mud and down I went. I was blessed that I had slowed down quite a bit. I only scrapped an elbow and a knee. At least the rest of the trip was uneventful, and we had a good time. It was a trip I have wanted to take for twenty years. I’ve included some pictures below.

April 2024

Man, it has been a busy beginning of the year. Right after Christmas we had to find a new place to live get everything packed up and then get everything unpacked and put in its place. Meanwhile I had a couple of interviews to do and take a vacation that was plan months ago to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We ended up at Williams, AZ and rode a train to the canyon. The start of the day was nice at 48 degrees, not too bad but the last hour at the Grand Canyon temps dropped to 28 degrees and started snowing. The next day we headed back to Las Vegas so we could go sightseeing. We got tickets to go see the Blue Man Group, who I have always wanted to see live. We went from sixty-dollar backrow tickets to getting moved up to front row tickets. It was a blast! Right now, I’m working on some lead magnets for my books as well as trying to get my last book translated to Spanish. And I’m working on two different books. Sunday April 28 was our Run for the Son ride and that takes a lot of stuff off my plate. I’ve included pic of both the Grand Canyon and our ride from Sunday, I hope you enjoy.

February 2024

Yes, it’s been a while since I have posted. First it was Christmas coming up. Then we were told that my sister-in-law was selling her house, so we had to start looking for another place to live. It’s amazing with all of the house listings most will not return a phone call, text or email in order to rent their house. However, we finally managed to find one and have finished moving in. Now we put the stuff where we want it. Also, during this time, I was meeting with my advertiser’s on posting my new book The Religious Divide. You can see my interview here or on YouTube. And I have advertisements on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. I hope for things to slow down so I can devote some time to marketing the new book and maybe starting a new one. See my book tab to read what my new book is about.

October 2023

Since our trip to Israel was postponed due to the fighting over there we opted for a trip to Savannah, GA. We went to a lot of amazing parks and islands. Took a trip in the bay to see dolphins and ate so many great tasting candy and food. Of course, when we got home, I was remined that play time was over and it was time to get back to work. I had a box of Advanced Reader Copies sitting on the front porch. And they needed to be autographed and mailed or delivered. Know we all get to read to see if any changes need to be made before publishing. I already spotted one, LOL.

September 2023

Last week, on Sept. 7th, I had the chance to go to a book presentation about the book Canary In The Coal Mine by Dr. William Cooke. He has a very interesting book about the drug problem in Austin, Indiana, with a population of about 4500 people. The drug problem led to an outbreak of hepatitis C and HIV and was the worst in the state. This book is his story about the people who needed help like many do in the United States. I give it a 5-star rating and recommend you read it too.

June 2023

Well after a long break with the grandkids, I was able to get back to working through the third edit of The Religious Divide. Now that that is finished it is now off to typesetting and spacing.

I have also been working on a couple of other stories. Not really anything that’s driving me to finish. I’m hoping that the one story I do have mostly finished I can wrap up when I get back from Israel. I’m looking to gather a little more information and some pictures.

I have also been working on a script for a reel I want to get posted on Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and my website. I will be using it for advertising to help promote both books Why Believe In Bible Prophecy and The Religious Divide. I will post when that is up and running. The PowerPoint part is complete I just need to record and edit the live sections.

April 2023

How busy can a disabled person be that they don’t have the time to update their post?  While let’s see. Two weeks, the grandsons were out of school for a break—a couple of weeks of taking grandsons back and forth to school. Okay, okay, there were three days I spent on the motorcycle two of which were helping plan the route for our Christian Motorcyclists Association Run for the Son. And then there was the day of setting up and then the run. I have also been squeezing in time to review my manuscript’s last edit, The Religious Divide. Then it goes to formatting, typesetting, and photos. Oh, by the way, there’s a motorcycle swap meet coming up and a meal our group puts together for the homeless. Yes, I’ve been busy, and I have included some pictures to back it up.

I’m still working on my suspense manuscript plus noting other ideas for other works. Well, I better get back to work.

October 2022

Hello to everyone who keeps up with my writing. If you have visited my website often, you might notice some changes. Since coming back from a mini vacation, I decided to take a small break from writing and change the website’s look. I’m also considering attending some book fairs for 2023 and some book signings. I’ll let you know if anything is set to go.

Back to vacation, yes, you read right, a mini vacation. My wife and I went to Memphis, TN. I wanted to hear some of the blues clubs on Beale Street and listen to some music. I’ve included pictures of some of the places we went. The first spot we hit was B.B. Kings, and we arrived just in time. We managed to get the second to the last table upstairs, overlooking the stage. It was only 5 pm, and the place was packed. The music was great, and the food was out of this world. The meat on the ribs was tender and fell off of the bones. When the band took a break, we decided to wander down the street and listen to other bands.

The next few days, we did a lot of sightseeing on Beale Street and parts of the old town. We even had to check out the local Bass Pro Shop downtown. You’ll see pictures of the inside as well as from the overlook. If you’re ever passing through, stop and check out the sights.

September 2022

Hello to those who follow my Facebook page or web blog. I have just finished another book. Unfortunately, however, this book has no title. So here’s where you come in. I’m looking for seventeen people to read just one chapter of my book, or you can read more; the choice is yours. So read a chapter(s) and give me some honest feedback. Was it easy to follow? Did I leave something out that needs to be explained better? Was it easy to understand? I can email the chapter(s) to you, or I can print them off if you are local.

Now you are wondering what’s in it for me. If you help me, I will give you an autographed copy for free. And if you come up with a title for my book and I use it, you will receive a $50 gift card, and I will note that you were the one who came up with the title. So what are the chapters?

Founding of the Catholic Church

Icons and Idols

Is Sunday the New Sabbath?

Just What Is Lent?

Immortal Soul

Where is Purgatory?

The Inquisition

The Rapture Is It Just a Story?

Traditions

Baptism

Who Is God To Muslims?

One Church

Life In The Lake of Fire

Who Forgives Sins?

Who Is The Queen of Heaven?

Who Are Saints?

Are Christian Holidays Linked to Pagan Holidays?

Last Thoughts

Each chapter looks at Catholic beliefs in the Catholic Catechism, where they came from, what Protestant beliefs are, and what the Bible says. I’d like to have these to everyone by the end of October and have comments back by the end of December. Thank you, and good luck with the title.

June 2022

Hello friends, I hope everyone is doing well. To update you on what is going on in the writing world. I am currently working on writing another book. However, I don’t know if writing is getting easier or if I enjoy the subject I am writing about. I could only write about 500 to 600 words a day when I first started writing. Now I average 1500 to 2000 words a day. And I just started writing my last book about a week ago, and in two weeks, I have already written eleven chapters. Of course, I spent six months on the research.

On another quick subject. I went to the New Albany Library today (June 6, 2022) and found my first book on the shelf, Why Believe in Bible Prophecy? I included some pictures to show you guys. I also found that the book has been checked out at least seven times. I wish they would have left a review on the library website.

If you haven’t read either of my books, you can go to the books tab on my website and click on the sites that carry my book. Also, for any purchase of my book Persecuted Christians, the proceeds will go toward Christian Motorcyclists Asso. Run for the Son. Well, I guess I better get back to work on the 12th chapter.

April 2022

After enjoying a wonderful week’s vacation in Texas, it’s time to get back to work. It’s been hard to leave the 80-degree weather and come home to 30-degree weather. And leave all of our family. We did make it to the Ramses II exhibit at the Houston Museum. My middle grandson Eli thought that it was boring. However, he went nuts over the dinosaur exhibit.

Unfortunately, I left with my third book in its first draft, so now it’s time to polish it up. I am also doing research for a fourth book. There is a lot of research for this one, so I guess the best way to tackle it is to draft it in the morning and research the other book in the afternoon.

And it is also the start of motorcycle season, as I call it. So the season’s first ride is on April 9th, with another on April 30th. Then we have a couple of more in May, and the Vet’s Run for the Wall. So I will post pictures of all of the riding events.

And I am currently doing some copywriting for a second website that will consist of motorcycle events, rides, and weekend tours. So I’ll keep you up to date on that one as well.

February 2022

Well, I’m sitting here in my office working on some odds and ends on some research on my next book. I’m split between a fiction and non-fiction book at this time. However, the fiction is pulling hard for my attention. I just finished a rough draft of a fictional book, and I’m letting it sit a few days before I start adding some rewrites. And I have some research to do on Amazon because I’m thinking about doing a self-publish. Decisions, decisions!

Today, I found out that my latest book, Christian Persecution Past, and Present, is now listed on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. So now I need to work on some advertisements.

December 2021

Okay, folks, I have eight copies of my new book in Persecuted Christians Past and Present. I am looking for eight people who are willing to take the time to read my book and write a review for it. The book will be yours to keep. If you need the book shipped to you, you can reach me at squyres@msn.com and shoot me your name and address, and I will send you your copy. I want the reviews by the end of January if you can, even if you are not finished reading it. That will be close to the release date.

Thanks

October 2021

Hello from Indiana,

I am back from vacation, and what a fantastic fun-filled week. Now it’s time to get back to work. First, before I talk about vacation, I have another book that will be coming out soon. In this book, “Christian Persecution Past and Present,” I cover the persecution briefly through history, starting with the stoning of Stephen, then the apostles, the middle ages, and to modern times covering one hundred and two countries. Before I left for vacation, we finalized the changes and sent the book to print. Once I get to revive the final book, then it goes to market.

If you haven’t had a chance to read my first book, “Why Believe in Bible Prophecy,” be sure to purchase it. Most people have told me that they enjoyed the book very much, and it answered a lot of questions they have had about bible prophecy. However, there is still so much more to learn and study.

Okay, now for vacation; since having congestive heart failure, Cindy and I try to go somewhere every year that has been on our bucket list. Someplace we thought of as kids that we thought we would never get to see. Well, this year, we decided on Yellowstone National Park. On our way, I noticed that we would be close to Fort Laramie, so we made the temporary stop.

Continuing after that stop, we finally rolled into Cody, Wyoming, around 9:30 MT. It just happens that the Airbnb that we rented was an original log cabin that had been restored and was used as a Ronald McDonald house at one time. Then was used for cancer patients who were in town for treatment before being bought for an Airbnb.

The following day we drove around Cody to see the sites and spent three to four hours in the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum.

On Tuesday, we drove into Yellowstone National Park and spent nine hours that day in the park. Way too much to see for one day. If I had been able to, I would have had to hike some of those trails also. Cindy got her wish of seeing Buffalo and Elk up close. We did follow the rules, but somebody forgot to tell the wildlife. That was another late trip back to our cabin that night.

On Wednesday, we decided to see the old log cabins set up outside of town. The gentleman who owned them had bought them from around the area and reassembled them on his property. He was a western author and history buff. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name because he was talking to so many different people. But I did hear him say he has a western on the top ten best-selling list right now.

Thursday, we left for Mount Rushmore because it would be on the route on our way home. But, man, once again, I wish my health was better; there was a rock-climbing area at a state park down the road from Mount Rushmore. And it turned out that the Crazy House monument was ten-mile further up the road.

On Friday, we were off to see the Badlands. It was amazing to see how the landscape changed. And there were so many prairie dogs it was unbelievable. It was another place I would have liked to hike.

We finally arrived home on Saturday at midnight.

Well, as I said, it’s time to get back to work. I’m currently working on a fiction book, and I’m working on chapter seven. I have also spent the last two years studying copywriting through American Writers and Artist Institute. So, if you know of anybody who needs help with a blog, newsletter, website, etc., point them in my direction.

June 2021

Man, isn’t it great since the mask mandates have been lifted and places are opening back up? Our family has been doing quite a bit of traveling over the last couple of months. During Memorial weekend, we traveled down to Gatlinburg, TN, for four days with my wife, two daughters, and three grandsons and had a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures.

Even though it rained the whole time, we still had lots of fun.

Next, we had some relatives come up to visit. Of course, the first place on the list to see was the Ark. It’s been in Williamstown, KY, for a while, but I just never seemed to be able to get away.

Then our last visit was the Louisville Slugger Museum. It has been several years since I have been there. The last time I was there, they were making the bats by hand using templates. Now they use a CNC machine and crank them out in just a few minutes.

Well, now it’s back to business. I sat down this morning and went through the changes for my second book, “Persecuted Christians Past and Present.” I now have that headed for the setup. Now I need to come up with some ideas for the cover design. And at the same time, I am working on getting the rest of my website set up. The website will promote not only my book, but I am going to start doing some copywriting on the side.

If you still have not purchased a copy of “Why Believe in Bible Prophecy?” You can get a copy from Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble. If you want an autographed copy, go to eBay to purchase it. I also have free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/324652570166?epid=4041155323&hash=item4b96cd1636:g:pxAAAOSwL7xgK-nV

In ending, get out there and have some fun!
